Description

One of the main and most interesting active ingredients present within the green tea extract is undoubtedly EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate), a very powerful skin antioxidant that is soluble in water but not at all stable and easily oxidised in aqueous solution in a few hours.

Another very interesting substance present in green tea leaves is vegetable Melatonin. Melatonin is a neuroendocrine hormone produced primarily by the pineal gland in the human brain through the tryptophan metabolic pathway with the immediate precursor, serotonin. Melatonin is also present in different parts of plants including the flowers, roots, leaves, fruits, and seeds. As a potent free-radical scavenger which also stimulates activity of the antioxidant enzymes and has an influence on the immune system. Unfortunately, aqueous solutions of melatonin are only weakly stable. Process and storage conditions including light, pH, temperature, air and storage time are all considered to be key factors of melatonin degradation in products and solutions.

So, these structural peculiarities of EGCG and Melatonin lead to a lot of stabilisation problems.

The Exo Elixir Camellia Sinensis thanks to Exosomes Technology it can encapsulate Polyphenols Melatonin, EGCG, into the vesicles of vegetal origin composed of a double phospholipids layer and therefore:

• make Polyphenols Melatonin, EGCG, solution stable over time in its active state.

(In vitro tests on Exo Elixir Camellia Sinensis)

+23% Collagen Synthesis Booster
Treated human fibroblasts showed a 23% increase in intracellular collagen, confirming its efficacy in enhancing skin structure and firmness.

8 ng/ml Phyto melatonin concentration
Neurocosmetic Activity: demonstrated the ability to influence cutaneous mediators like melatonin and serotonin, suggesting potential for stress-related skin conditions and improving skin collagen.

The connective tissue of the skin is composed mostly of collagen and elastin. Collagen makes up 70–80% of the dry weight of the skin and gives the dermis its mechanical and structural integrity. The ageing processes have both quantitative and qualitative effects on collagen and elastic fibres in the skin, there is collagen deficiency that manifests itself in loss of skin structure and firmness.

In our test we treated human fibroblasts cells with Exo Elixir Camellia Sinensis for 24 hours, monitored the Collagen quantity during test time.

In conclusion we verified an effective increase of 23% in intracellular Collagen in human fibroblasts treated. That confirms Collagen Booster Activity of Exo Elixir Camellia Sinensis.

Persons’ moods, emotions, and sensations occur in the brain; subsequently, the brain sends biochemical signals to the body, including the skin.
If, in real life, we are exposed to prolonged stress, skin cells do not stop the production of the brain dislike signal. Cortisol, also known as the stress hormone, remains at the elevated level, causing a cascade of damaging consequences. In this regard, the breakdown of skin homeostasis takes place, inducing skin inflammation, acne, dermatitis, or rosacea. Melatonin, Serotonin and Phyto melatonin (melatonin plant derived) play diverse physiological roles at different developmental stages of stress, decreasing stress levels by re-establishing skin homeostasis.

In our test we measure the Exo Elixir Camellia Sinensis.Phyto melatonin concentration (8 ng/ml), with the same active we treated human fibroblasts cells and we monitored the derived serotonin quantity during test time and also the collagen increase.

In conclusion

The test evidenced that Exo Elixir Camellia Sinensis can act on cutaneous mediators like melatonin and serotonin, so may be considered as Neurocosmetic Active. Secondly, there is a direct relationship between serotonin and increased skin collagen.
